Foraging Camps
There was a terrible drought in Maharashtra from 2002 to 2003. The wells were dry. Only air was coming from the borewell. Crops were withered. Thousands of tankers were running for water. One had to wait for days for a bucket of water. Animals were sold to butchers. People had tears in their eyes as the animals, which were treated like hand sores, had to be sold to the butcher due to lack of fodder and water. At such a time, the government challenged to start fodder camps. A certain amount of subsidy was agreed to be given to each animal. At that time fodder camps were started through Om Adinath Sanstha. Hundreds of animals from the area entered the camp. Animals started getting fodder. People began to take care of animals happily and the fodder camps started by Om Adinath Sevabhavi Sanstha started to gain a reputation as exemplary camps.
